Admissions and Application

Joining the UVEI MAT or MEd Program
We are currently accepting applications from people in the following categories:
2013-2014 Teacher and Principal Applicants and Accepted Interns Who Seek Both Certification and an MAT or MEd
You are pursuing certification as a teacher or principal at the same time as you will be pursuing the MAT or MEd degree. Your challenge will be to balance the attention you will pay to your internships and certification competencies with the added challenges of the MAT or MEd competencies. UVEI has designed these additional ten competencies to be mutually-supportive of certification competencies. But working on them simultaneously will require an extra commitment on your part.
2007-2013 UVEI/UVTI Graduates
You are currently pursuing a career as a teacher or administrator, have an electronic portfolio in place based upon UVEI competencies during your certification program, but you graduated prior to UVEI's receiving State of New Hampshire authorization to grant degrees. You will upgrade your UVEI portfolio to reflect current competency standards and, upon successful completion of this task, be awarded 24 credits towards your MAT or MEd degree. For you, the primary challenge involves balancing your teaching/leadership responsibilities with the additional work as a graduate student, and finding ways to gain maximum benefit from your current job while enhancing your base of professional skills and knowledge.
1999-2006 Upper Valley Teacher Institute Graduates
You enrolled in UVTI after we were accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), but without having an opportunity to develop an electronic portfolio. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, you will be asked to reflect upon, and respond to, the new competencies added since you completed your UVTI certification program. You will also need to become familiar with an electronic portfolio system of recording evidence of competency achievement.
Pre-1999 UVTTP Graduates
You enrolled and graduated from UVTTP prior to our receiving accreditation from NEASC. Your responsibilities are essentially similar to those of 1999-2006 UVTI graduates, but there is likely to be a more extensive process of verifying your achievement of competencies added since your graduation. There will also be a cost of $500 for your participation in a guided workshop to enable you to construct an electronic portfolio documenting your competence relative to current UVEI standards.
