Professional Development

Educator Deborah Meier Discusses the Five Habits of Mind with UVEI Interns
UVEI offers a number of opportunities for professional development to local educators. Our Seminars and Saturday Workshops are always open to the public. We also offer graduate programs through the Upper Valley Graduate School of Education.
Graduate Courses
The UVEI Mentorship Graduate Sequence is a credit-bearing experience for UVEI mentors who sign up for graduate credits from UVEI. For more information, call 603 678-4888.
Design and Implementation Using the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards is a three-credit graduate course, created to meet the needs of teachers who are seeking to enhance their competence in designing and implementing unit and lesson design into the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, to learn from each other, and to develop a sound Backwards Design unit. The course begins on June 24, 2013.
The UVEI Math Common Core Seminars
This three-credit, three-day summer seminar is offered to assist districts, schools and teachers in implementing the Common Core State Standards in Math, while enhancing classroom creativity. The goal of the seminar will be to gain a shared and expanded understanding of the Common Core domains in Math, the Standards of Mathematical Practice, as well as best practices for teaching them. Working in teams or individually, teachers will collaborate to review their current district Math curriculum as impacted by the Common Core.
For more information, contact Erin Mullen at 603 678-4888.
