The Innovations in Education Forum is an annual tradition that is, in large part, a culmination of a year of work on the part of the action research cohort. This year’s cohort included MEd degree candidates in teaching, teacher leadership, and school leadership: the forum was a time for them to present their work to some of the wider educational community. There were individual presentations and a panel discussion, and topics ranged from school climate to executive function to mathematics instruction. Lunch, reflection, and gratitude followed the presentations, and was a positive way to mark the culmination of the MEd degrees for these educators and the faculty members, colleagues, friends, and family who were present to support them.

The event also marked the start of a journey for our new 2024-2025 teacher and principal licensure cohorts. These candidates (20 in each program) attended the presentations, asked questions, took away new information and ideas, and came together in the afternoon to process what they were learning. We look forward to more learning with these educators as they dive into teaching and school leadership this year and, in some cases, begin to conduct their own action research in schools and classrooms.
