Academic support, special needs, and 504 and disability related services

Services and Support for Students with Special Needs:

  • Candidates with varied abilities and needs enhance the culture of UVEI and contribute diverse perspectives and experiences to our community and the field of education. UVEI values candidate agency and independence. This notion is embedded in our work with candidates, and UVEI seeks to give candidates significant input into how UVEI responds to individual needs. Consistent with universal access and personalization principles, the faculty and staff of UVEI seek to foster a welcoming environment and implement reasonable accommodations to ensure that all students benefit from available opportunities.
  • The policies and procedures for seeking an accommodation/modification support plan are outlined in the UVEI Academic Catalog and Candidate Handbook.
Candidates or participants who may have qualifying needs or would like to explore possible academic supports can contact Chris Ward, the Academic Dean and Candidate Support Coordinator (Chris Ward, cward@uvei.edu, 603-678-4899 x110) to start the Accommodation/Support Plan process. As always, Candidates can also contact any trusted UVEI staff or faculty member for support and guidance.

Academic Complaints:

  • Disputes related to academic programs and academic progress are reserved for the faculty and the Academic Committee (see “Sufficient Academic Progress (SAP)” in the Academic Catalog and Candidate Handbook)
Candidates with academic complaints can contact Chris Ward, the Academic Dean and Candidate Support Coordinator (Chris Ward, cward@uvei.edu, 603-678-4899 x110) for assistance.
