Professional community among teachers, the subject of a number of recent major studies, is often regarded as an essential ingredient contributing to the improvement of schools. In this inquiry, you will explore concepts related to cooperation, collegiality, and collective learning, developing the skills necessary to facilitate learning-oriented conversations that lead to teacher improvement. With teachers in your school, you will practice effective collaboration (drawing on research), foster productive relationships, and analyze interactions with colleagues. Above and beyond these activities, you can choose to do an additional exploration of the research as it informs, analyzes, and improves your practice.
