Design, teach, reflect.

Inspire learning and dialogue with scaffolded and differentiated lessons.

In this inquiry, teachers will advance their skills at planning and teaching lessons by integrating the science of how young people learn, how to meet different learners’ needs, and how to scaffold academic language development. Practicums include designing, teaching, analyzing, and peer reviewing instructional plans and video of instruction through subject specific lesson study processes. Performance assessments of competency include a lesson plan with analysis and short video of instruction with analysis. Above and beyond these activities, you can elect to do an additional exploration of the research as it informs and improves your practice. You may also choose to participate in an additional clinical coaching cycle with conferencing and an observation to support further improvement and application.
