This online resource will be a point of connection for UVEI alumni, regional educators, and aspiring educators.
Schools in Vermont and New Hampshire are in critical need of qualified and committed teachers and leaders. Hiring districts are leaving no stone unturned as they seek applicants to fill vacancies, and UVEI frequently gets requests from around the state asking “Do you know of anyone who could fill [this opening]? Page Tompkins, UVEI president, has certainly seen a trend, noting that “The disruptions from COVID, financial pressures on schools, the youth mental health crisis, housing shortages, and lack of child care have combined to make it harder than ever to recruit teachers.”
While UVEI works hard to alleviate these shortages through our licensure programs and scholarship opportunities, we also see an opportunity to get the right information to the right people. With a network that includes over 650 alumni and over 1000 other educators and professional contacts, we can provide hiring districts with visibility and relevance by posting jobs, highlighting UVEI connections, and communicating available jobs to our network of alumni and educators.
Our newly launched jobs board will:
- Provide job posters with a simple form as well as a point of contact for submitting their job posting
- Provide job seekers with a running list of job openings that we have been asked to share
- Highlight known UVEI connections (i.e. alumni at the school) in each job posting
