At UVEI, we start off each school year with an Innovations in Education Forum that brings together educators for sharing and learning. This year’s forum featured two local school districts that are modeling authentic, holistic learning: Randolph Union High School’s Design Innovation Lab and Woodstock Union High School’s CRAFT Program. The experiences of staff and students were engaging, hopeful, and relevant to our times. This year, we want to bring more educators into the discussion. How are we showing up for our students, colleagues, and communities in authentic ways? How are we uncovering the joy of true, holistic learning – in our own lives and in those of our students?
As our activities take shape, we have multiple points of engagement for educators in our two states.
- Share with us: how is your school or classroom fostering holistic and authentic learning this year. Email ptompkins@uvei.edu or fill out this form to share what you are doing.
- Gather with other educators for learning conversations and/or school visits where we’ll share strategies, successes, and challenges – stay tuned for upcoming events this year
.
- Take a graduate course with us. Our Deeper Learning Inquiry is particularly relevant to this type of work, but we offer a variety of others that you can take part in yourself or with your colleagues.
We will be sharing specific opportunities in our upcoming newsletters, and you can also view upcoming events on our new UVEI calendar. Please reach out with any questions or ideas, and we hope to engage with you in this work in the near future!
